The Scionic Songs

 ___________________________________

For untold eons all that existed amongst the stars and the deepest black of space, was the Myst.  Within the Heart of the Myst an immense potential and power lay hidden away.  This power sang a sort of song out into the ether, a beat audible only to one kind.  As though in response to the Heart's rhythm, Scions emerged.  Scion being the word the godly Dragons use for their own kind.  The Scions of Haeis & Radiance come from the heat and light of the stars. The Scions of Vals & Shadow find their way from the dark cold void between the stars.

In the beginning there were just the two, the first of multitudes.  So ended the age of nothingness and began the age of conflict, the Scionic Wars. The Myst would know war, would be war.  Both the Radiant and the Shadowed longed for the source of the song, yet neither truly understood why.  The first two Scions discovered the Heart of the Myst together.  The Shadows sought to swallow the great heart, but the Radiance would not allow.  The first blows were felt that day as the Scions struggled with each other for control.  They wrestled amongst the cosmos for untold millenia. The Radiant threw the Shadows from the Heart to keep it from consuming such untold magnificence. The Shadow would return with ravenous haste.  There can be no agreement between them.  The Radiant is only capable of preserving order and the Heart is of the holiest order to them. In contrast to the Shadow who seeks to consume and extend the darkness of the void.  Radiance sees the path of Order in Chaos, while Shadow realizes the path of Chaos in Order.

Then there were more.  More found their ways from both the void and the stars.  By the nature of their existence the shadow grew their numbers more quickly, for there is more darkness between the stars than there are stars.  None-the-less the Scions of Haeis endured, and in their protection, so too did the Heart of the Myst.  In cooperation and synchronicity they worked as one, something the Shadows would not do.  It is true the Scions of Vals enshrouded more together, but they all sought to lead and through this none of them truly did.  So began billions of years worth of conflict, the seeds of the Scionic Wars.

Torment, and purpose. Two words that describes the raging battle that terrorized the Myst before time mattered.  A tragedy to consider the great many things these god-like beings could achieve together, but peace in balance was never truly an option.  Existing this way, Scions are only born to die in the war for the Myst.  Fate inherent had tied destiny to an unquestionable outcome. The darkness between the starlight, the void, begins to swallow everything. The Shadow scattered but in common purpose, to destroy unborn Scions of Radiance.  In this loose independent manner, the Shadow came together more efficiently than ever before.  The destruction in the Myst is incomprehensible to the mortal mind. As each defenseless star is destroyed so grows the darkness between them and the might of the Shadow.  Those of Haeis attempted to defend their helpless hatchlings. Eventually forced to diffuse their strength, they too succumb to the onslaught of the corruption of Vals.  The eclipse is so devastating the dying of the light is untenable.  As light faded into the nothingness and its Scions all fell by the sheer numbers and power of the Shadow, came an end to the Scionic Wars and began a new age.

The Last Scion of Radiance, Kyro, is forever to be remembered in piety. A beacon of the last shining hope. In desperation the Radiant dove deep into the core of an unhatched star.  Reaching out with everything it had it carried with him, the Heart of the Myst.  None before had ever held the Heart.  Empowered by the Heart the Scion grew three fold.  The war is over, as the last Scion of Radiance made his final step, the Myst’s fate now fully depended on these deeds.

Even at this size the Scion was no match for the vast Shadow across the cosmos. The void, and the corruption it spawned, were everywhere. Around the Radiant the Shadow closed in, there was no escape. Not all light was dead, Kyro sped its way towards the star closest to him. In a final act of defiance the godly dragon fully embraced the Heart and all its power as it plunged itself into the hatchling.  The strongest of Vals' children, in resignation, reached out to its brethren to become a greater amalgam.  Stronger the darkness entangled itself with the Last Scion grasping for the Heart of the Myst.

For the entangled Scion it seemed that this had meant the end of Haeis.  The Heart was always meant to be used in balance between these kin.  Wielding the Heart a Scion could create life itself.  Inside the star, the shocking and final act of violence, resulted in a chain reaction, a miracle followed by the godly phenomenon birthed by Chaos and Order, by war and peace. An eternal war between Radiance and Shadow continued inside the star.  Sacrificing the corporeal, both the Last Scion and the Greater Shadow merged.  Deeply into the star they plunged. The scionic souls in harmony with the now hatching dragon combined with the Heart of the Myst created something new.

A brilliant explosion resulted, flooding Radiance into the dark cosmos and driving away some of the darkness.  Within the nova, a unique Scion of the Five Elements is born. The only of its kind born from both Haeis and Vals.  Many of the surrounding Scions of Shadow were destroyed in the explosion, others were blinded.  Those at distance could see the events unfold. Vals' minions immediately struck down on the dragon rising from the stardust. However, their joint assault soon collapsed. They were stopped at the star’s premise, as a barrier of unknown origins appeared between them and the Five Headed god.

A new source came to life, the Shattered Light. The eternal struggle and the Heart’s blessing against failure, yields such energy that it forms a mirror-like barrier around the cracked star, protecting the rising Scion. An impenetrable barrier shielding the new life within.  The Shadow could only watch from the Myst’s void, as the rising dragon breathes life into the collapsed star within the barrier, forging a world. This newborn dragon had just done what Shadow and Radiance couldn’t for an eternity.

The Heart of the Myst is part of him. Using the Heart’s power the godly Scion created the framework of a new world.  Breathing out the very essence of creation within the barrier he has become the creator of Aesor, known as Kalzamaath, the Great Father.
