Spiri are normal people who have become infused with an Elirits through any number of means. Some have dabbled too deeply with magic, others have survived near death experiences, while there are some who are simply born Spiri. Because they are a fusion of a person and an @Elirit, there are many who develop dissociative personality disorder if they were not born into it. Successfully fused Spiri have greater cognitive function because of their expanded minds.   Whichever Elirit the person has fused with, they will show outward signs of it. Things such as hued, patterned, or textured skin, imbedded gems, or pupils eyes, or elementally charged hair. Spiri have only been seen with aspects of Flame, Water, Wind, or Stone Elirits.   Because of the volatile nature of Elirits, there are some who treat Spiri with the utmost caution. Fearful of their abilities and seeing Spiri as little more then an Elirit who can't be controlled through spellcasting and willpower. But at the same time there are those who celebrate Spiri as miraculous beings who have an immense about of potential. Something they are expected to live up to as a great hero, or leader, or researcher. Needless to say, a Spiri's life is normally one that finds itself in the spotlight.
