Never truly born: You are NOT considered undead, but your heart doesn't beat, and your organs do not function.
A homunculus is created when a child is stillborn or otherwise dies soon after birth. Usually, they are the children of powerful magic users who attempt to revive the corpse, IF enough magic is expended, the child will awaken, but they will not be a normal being. The new being will be unable to feel emotion, nor be able to taste or smell, anything. They will however be strongly magically inclined, most are inclined to necromancy, but they can lean into any school of magic.
