Your dragonforged character has the following traits.
Age. A typical warforged is between between two and thirty years old, however the dragonforged line is much younger, averaging at around 6 to 8 months old. The maximum warforged lifespan remains a mystery; so far, warforged have shown no signs of deterioration due to age. You are immune to magical aging effects.
Alignment. Most warforged take comfort in order and discipline, tending toward law and neutrality. In contrast, the dragonborn that this line takes its inspiration from tend to extremes, often making a conscious choice for one side or the other in the cosmic war between good and evil. As a result, dragonforged are usually lawful in nature, but never neutral.
Size. Dragonforged, much like regular dragonborn, are taller and heavier than humans, standing well over 7 feet tall and averaging a hefty 470 pounds. Your size is Medium.
Speed. Your base walking speed is 25 feet.
Heavy Frame. Due to your density, you sink quickly in water and similar liquids. You cannot gain a swimming speed.
Night-Sight. Designed to be superior to the dragonborn you are modeled after, you have superior vision in dark and dim conditions. You can see in dim light within 30 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can’t discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.
Languages. You can speak, read, and write Common, and Draconic.
Sentry's Rest. When you take a long rest, you must spend at least six hours in an inactive, motionless state, rather than sleeping. In this state, you appear inert, but it doesn't render you unconscious, and you can see and hear as normal.
Robust Robotics. You were created to have remarkable hardiness, represented by the following benefits:
You don't need to eat, drink, or breathe.
You are immune to disease.
You don't need to sleep, and magic can't put you to sleep.
Mechanized Defense. Your body has dragon-like metal scales. You can use your reaction on your turn to activate your scales, causing them to extend like daggers. Until the start of your next turn you gain resistance to slashing damage.
Shard Projection. Since your body needs to maintain upkeep, you go through a process every time you rest in which you shed metal on the inside and it is collected inside your stomach. As a bonus action you can exhale these shards of metal in a 15 foot cone. When you use your shard projection, each creature in the area of the exhalation must make a Dexterity saving throw. The DC for this saving throw equals 8 + your Constitution modifier + your proficiency bonus. A creature takes 2d6 slashing damage on a failed save, and half as much damage on a successful one.
The damage increases to 3d6 at 6th level, 4d6 at 11th level, and 5d6 at 16th level. After you use your shard projection, you can’t use it again until you complete a short or long rest.
Subrace. Many different variants of the dragonforged line have been produced in the quest to make the ultimate soldier. The most common variants are as follows: willowforged, bruteforged, and knightforged, who are also called lancers. Choose one of these subraces. Since this warforged line is so new, there may be a way that you want to look that isn't presented here. You can always choose to look like one subrace, but still choose the features of another.
Willowforged
As a willowforged, you have a more slender frame in comparison to your dragonforged brethren. You are outfitted with mechanics designed to help you stealthily move through cover undetected.
Willowforged are usually created with dark metals, and if not are painted dark gray or black. Their legs are noticeably longer when compared to the rest of their body than other dragonforged. They most often have an orange hue to their Night-Sight optics.
Ability Score Increase. Your Dexterity score increases by 2, and your Constitution score increases by 1.
Shock Absorbent. You have resistance to bludgeoning damage received from falling and take no damage from falling 40 feet or less.
Nimble Augments. Your base walking speed increases to 30 feet.
Bruteforged
As a bruteforged, you were designed to be a walking mechanical force of nature. Though devastating in combat proficiency, most bruteforged often take up an art form to ease their conquering-focused mind. They are never very good at anything requiring adept finger dexterity however.
Bruteforged most often have a silver coating, hiding most scratches they sustain in battle. They have shorter horns than other dragonforged, as any extrasensory benefit they provide is lost in the heat of combat. Horns are an easy target for assailants, so it is impractical to give your enemies an edge.
Ability Score Increase. Your Strength score increases by 2, and your Constitution score increases by 1.
Powerful Build. You count as one size larger when determining your carrying capacity and the weight you can push, drag, or lift.
Custom-built Athlete. You have proficiency in the Athletics skill.
Knightforged (Lancer)
The knightforged, experts in spear-like combat. You were designed to be at the front lines of the war, a direct counter to any cavalry units encountered on the battlefield. Knightforged is a name given out of reverence by your creators, but lancer is a name given out of fear by your enemies.
Lancers are detailed with green and brown filaments as camouflage. They are lacking in horns, with their design having a larger focus on structural stability. They have no discernible optics, as they are hidden by their heavily armored faceplate.
Ability Score Increase. Your Constitution, Strength, and Dexterity scores all increase by 1.
Lancer Weapon Training. You have proficiency with the spear, pike, halberd, and lance.
Limb Extension Protocol. For the first melee attack you make on your turn with a weapon that has the reach property, your reach for it is 5 feet greater than normal.
Extra Language. You can speak, read, and write one extra language of your choice.
