subclass options:
Earth Control
Starting at 2nd level, you gain some generally basic control over earth and stone. You gain the following features:
- You learn the Magic Stone cantrip.
- You can use an action to remove a 5ft x 5ft area of earth or stone-based rough terrain into normal terrain.
- As a bonus action, you can take a small handful of compressed earth and form it into a solid pebble. This transformation lasts 1 hour.
Earthen Channeling
Starting at 7th level, all forms of bludgeoning damage dealt by you now deal magical damage. Additionally, you can use an action to grant yourself 60ft of burrowing speed. While burrowing, you can use an action to gain tremor-sense that goes up to 30ft. This feature lasts 10 minutes and requires a short or long rest before it can be used again.
Bore Surface
At 15th level, you gain the ability to violently bore a large opening through a chunk of earth or stone. Select a surface no larger than 15ft x 15ft. You can then perform a ritual that takes 5 minutes that cannot be interrupted. Once the ritual is performed, the area will be fully marked. As an action, you can cause the marked surface to violently bore itself up to 30ft in a direction, creating a large tunnel or opening. While the opening is there, the surrounding earth will remain as it is, meaning that a collapse or cave-in will be possible. The opening lasts for 12 hours and once the time is up, all creatures will be ejected out of the area and the hole will be fully filled back up. This ability can be done once per long rest.
One with the Earth
At 18th level, your earth-manipulation has pretty much peeked. Your Erupting Earth spell can now be casted using spell slots of 1st and 2nd level. You also gain resistance to non-magical bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage as your body has fully adapted to the roughness of burrowing and terrain-diving. Finally, your burrow speed is now 120ft and exiting from underground will cause all creatures within 5ft of the exit area to make a dexterity save or take 2D8 bludgeoning damage and be knocked back 5ft and prone.
