Medium Human, Stableboy, Neutral Good
Roderick is a relatively tall, lanky, 12 year old boy with short-cut dark brown hair and a distinctive scar above his right-eye, slashing through the eyebrow. He is the son of the owner/proprietor of The Watering Hole Inn and works as the stableboy. He is generally a bit dirty, as most of his time is spent out in the stables with horses or tending to the inn's garden. Roderick's demeanor is generally cheerful and positive. He shows intense interest in the names and stories of travelers who come through the inn and spends much of his time daydreaming about one day setting off on his own to become a great hero. He is good at his job as a stableboy and genuinely cares about the animals under his watch. He can often be found in the stables late in the evening, either brushing horses or ... if someone happens to leave a sword on their saddle instead of taking it with them to the inn ... sparring invisible foes with a 'temporarily borrowed' weapon. The doppelganger copy of Roderick cares less about the horses under its care and does only the minimum required to keep up appearances as a stableboy. It really doesn't like being relegated to a "less important" role assigned to more menial tasks and therefore acts a bit more like a petulant and rebellious teen than Roderick himself would act.
People. I care more about people than I do about any ideals.
One day, unlike my father, I will venture out into the world and make stories of my own. Then I will return to The Watering Hole as a heroic adventurer.
The pace of life is too slow at The Watering Hole, which leads me to get myself into trouble sometimes.
