Devil's Sight: Magical Darkness does not impede the Herald's Darkvision. Magic Resistance: The Herald has advantage on Saving Throws against Spells and other magical effects. Necrotic Absorption. Whenever the Herald is subjected to necrotic damage, it takes no damage and instead regains a number of hit points equal to the necrotic damage dealt.
Multiattack. The Herald of Death makes three flail attacks. Flail. Melee Weapon Attack: +9 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 9 (1d8 + 5) bludgeoning damage. Necrotic Smite (5 Charges). When hitting a creature the Herald of Death can use a charge to deal necrotic damage to the target, in addition to the weapon's damage. The extra damage is 2d8. Lay on Death (1/day). The Herald has a pool of healing necrotic power that replenishes every day. With that pool, he can restore a total of 28 Hit Points
Legendary Resistance (1/Day). If the Herald of Death fails a saving throw, it can choose to succeed instead. Aura of Death (Recharge 5-6). The Herald of Death brings forth a wave of death in a 30-foot radius centered around him. Each creature in that area must make a DC 16 Constitution saving throw taking 32 (8d8) necrotic damage and one level of exhaustion on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.
Born of the Void. The Herald of death was born in the void, the outer world beyond the astral plane. Servant of death. The Herald is the servant of the chaotic embodiment of death. He was created to act as the right hand of Meletrec, the Abyssal Lord of death. He has since defected an now lives to serve The Master. Unrelenting hunt. He is most often sent on the material plane to search and destroy to further the conquest of the abyssal Lords. Once the Herald is tasked by The Master to find something or hunt someone, he will do so without rest. Hunting Party. This Fiend is the leader of death's hunting party. He most usually travels to the physical plane with his plane steed and Scourge his abyss dog. Dark armor. This fiend wears dark plate with the chest piece fashioned as a skull; a hanging maw and streams of purple smoke pouring from the eye sockets. Spirit of the Void. The Herald of death does not die but could have his physical body destroyed or sealed. Destroying his body will force him to recreate it.
