Hailing from the strange and distant homeland they were exiled from by the grik, wandering lemurians are lemur humanoids driven by curiosity to collect interesting artifacts, gather tales and stories, and sail wherever the ancient maps takes them. Ultimate sailors, the lemurian rarely stay in one place for long. Their innate nature pushes them to leave no secrets uncovered, no treasures or legends lost.
Most lemurians remain in their distant homeships, content to dwell in large, tight clans. These lemurians fish for food, craft goods, and largely keep to themselves.
However, not all lemurians are satisfied with such a ocean life. Those tabaxi gifted with curiosity for land living are compelled to explore the one of the many land masses found during the escape from the grik. They seek out stories, artifacts, and lore. Some of those ended up in the republic of real people and others in many spread out towns along all the know land masses.
In the lemurians's eyes, gathering wealth is like packing rations for a long trip. It is important to survive in the world, but not worth fussing over.
Instead, lemurians value knowledge and new experiences. Their ears perk up in a busy gathering, and they tease out stories with offers of food, drink, and coin. Lemurians might walk away with empty purses, but they mull over the stories and rumors they collected like a miser counting coins.
Although material wealth olds little attraction for the lemurian, they have an insatiable desire to find and inspect ancient relics, magical items, and other rare objects. Aside from the power such items might confer, a lemurian takes great joy in unraveling the stories behind their creation and the history of their use.
