Age

Hodes age a bit slower than Homs, reaching adulthood at around age 20. The average Hode lifespan is around 60 years.  

Alignment

Hodes live in tribal societies where there are few rules, in order to prioritize survival. Morals tend to inhibit one's ability to survive, so most Hodes lean toward Chaotic Neutral.  

Size

Hodes average about 3 feet tall and weigh about 40 pounds. Your size is Small.  

Speed

Your base walking speed is 25 feet.  

Darkvision

Accustomed to low-light environments such as forest floors and caves, you have superior vision in dim and dark conditions. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can’t discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.  

Hode Nimbleness

You can move through the space of any creature that is of a size larger than yours.  

Inscrutable Face

A Hode's face is most akin to a dark void, featureless save for a pair of glowing yellow or red eyes. This makes them difficult to read, and leads to mistrust of Hodes by other races. Other creatures have disadvantage on Wisdom (Insight) checks made against you.

Languages. You can speak, read, and write Common and Hode. The Hode language is not a secret, but most Hodes would rather die than teach it to an outsider. They usually speak Common when conversing with other races.
