Ebony and Ivory

Weapon Longsword
Versatile, Finesse
Very Rare, Varies (this item requires attunement)

The body of the sheath seems to have an ivory-like luster, with metal tendrils bearing a golden sheen wrapping around it, almost as if gripping it. The porcelain seems to etchings in it resembling flame-like patterns, although it seems fairly symbolic in design. The golden metal seems to double has both a handle and piping. There is a casing near the cavity of the sheath made of adamantine, there seems to be a trigger and crystalline phials protruding from the casing. The casing has etches of sakura flower like patterns. The blade itself is made from a dark, black metal, likely made from meteortic or volcanic materials. It seems that the creator of this longsword was fond of Af'Bakken culture and took great inspiration from it when crafting this artful weapon.   Hidden Blade. You can sheath or unsheath this weapon as part of a melee weapon attack made with weapon. To do so, you must wield the weapon with only 1 hand, and must use the other hand to hold and operate the sheath. This magic longsword has the finesse property. If you are proficient with shortswords or longswords, you are proficient with this weapon, additionally, the weapon is treated as a monk weapon.   Mystic Phials. The mechanical portions of the sheath are borne with 3 crystalline phials, which, when charged, hold elemental or magical charges. The user can use their bonus action to charge 3 phials, the user chooses a damage type, except bludgeoning, piercing, or slashing, when charging a phial. When the phial is discharged, the phial damage type is the type used to charge the phial. The phial damage is 2d4.   Raging Torrent. Once per turn, when you make a melee weapon attack with this weapon, you can choose to discharge a phial. If you do, the phial’s contents are launched from the throat of the sheath, Ivory, spraying forth as it trails behind the blade, Ebony, dealing the phial damage in a 15ft cube centered on the target, excluding you. Creatures in the area must make a dexterity saving throw, on a failure they take the full phial damage. On a success, they take half. The DC for the saving throw is equal to 8+Dexterity+Proficiency Bonus.   Slashdraw. If a creature would move within 10 feet of you, you can use your reaction and discharge a phial, you can make a melee weapon attack with this weapon against that creature without needing it to be within reach, adding the phial damage on hit. You cannot use Raging Torrent when making the melee weapon attack for Slashdraw.   Adaptive Strikes. Each time you discharge a phial you gain a cumulative +1 bonus to your attack and damage rolls with this weapon, for a maximum of +2. When you have reached the maximum bonus to attack and damage rolls, you can choose to add the phial damage in addition to the previous bonuses to the damage on hit when you expend a phial; however you take 2 of that damage type at the end of each of your turns ignoring resistances, reductions, and immunities. The total possible bonus is +2 to hit and +2d4+2 to damage on hit, and any additional damage granted by this effect (Adaptive Strikes) is the same as the phial damage type. The bonuses conferred by this effect remain on the weapon until a different phial damage type is used, the weapon is deactivated with a bonus action, or 1 minute has passed since using a phial.
