You must be a Blood Hunter to attune to this weapon.
You have a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon and it deals an additional 1d6 cold damage on hit. If you are already attuned to the Umbral Flame War Scythe, you do not need to attune to this weapon. Additionally, if you are wielding this weapon and the Umbral Flame War Scythe, your Crimson Rite extends to both weapons.
Umbral Night Phials. This weapon has 2 Umbral Night Phials, you can charge 1 Umbral Night Phial on hit with an attack made with this weapon. If you are also Attuned to the Umbral Flame War Scythe, you instead have a combined total of 5 Umbral Night Phials(for a maximum of 5 shared by both this weapon and the Umbral Flame War Scythe). You cannot gain any Umbral Night Phials on an attack or action that you have expended an Umbral Night Phial(s) on.
- Ice Infusion. When you hit with an attack with this weapon, you can expend an Umbral Night Phial to deal an additional 1d6 cold damage.
- Night Frost. When you take the attack action, you can replace all attacks to instead expend 2 Umbral Night Phials to unleash a bone-chilling wave of frost. Creatures in a 20ft cone originating from you must make a Dexterity Saving Throw (DC 8+Dex+Prof), taking 3d6 cold damage on a failed save, or half on a successful save.
- Overcharge. Once before midnight each day, you can spend 3 additional Phials to overcharge Frost Wave’s power. The cone’s range increases by 10ft and does an additional 3d6 cold damage. Targets that fail the Dexterity Saving Throw are also restrained until the end of your next turn, this effect ends early if they take fire damage.
- Night of the Hunter. As a bonus action, you can expend 2 Umbral Night Phials to activate one of your Blood Curses without using a Blood Maledict. If you are heavily obscured from the target of an attack you make with this weapon, you can choose to expend a use of this ability to double the damage dice on hit. You can use ‘Night of the Hunter’ twice before midnight each day.
