Legendary Resistance (2/Day). If Taberu-Tetsu fails a saving throw, it can choose to succeed instead.   Iron Scent. Taberu-Tetsu can pinpoint, by scent, the location of ferrous metal within 30 feet of it.   Rust Metal. Any nonmagical weapon made of metal that hits Taberu-Tetsu corrodes. After dealing damage, the weapon takes a permanent and cumulative -1 penalty to damage rolls. If its penalty drops to -5, the weapon is destroyed. Nonmagical ammunition made of metal that hits the rust monster is destroyed after dealing damage.

Actions

Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 13 (2d8 + 4) piercing damage.   Antennae. Taberu-Tetsu corrodes a nonmagical ferrous metal object it can see within 10 feet of it. If the object isn't being worn or carried, the touch destroys a 1-foot cube of it. If the object is being worn or carried by a creature, that creature can make a DC 15 Dexterity saving throw to avoid the rust monster's touch.   If the object touched is either metal armor or a metal shield being worn or carried, it takes a permanent and cumulative -1 penalty to the AC it offers. Armor reduced to an AC of 10 or a shield that drops to a +0 bonus is destroyed. If the object touched is a held metal weapon, it rusts as described in the Rust Metal trait.

Legendary Actions

Taberu-Tetsu can take 2 legendary actions, choosing from the options below. Only one legendary action option can be used at a time and only at the end of another creature's turn. The rust monster regains spent legendary actions at the start of his turn.   Bite. Taberu-Tetsu makes one bite attack.   Vengeful Spirits (Costs 2 Actions). The spirits of those who lost battle against Taberu-Tetsu start appearing, hurling themselves through the foes of the rust monster. All creatures within 10 feet of it must make a DC 15 Dexterity Saving throw, taking 18 (4d8) slashing damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.

Regional Effects

Within a mile of this creature's lair, there is a shortage of iron, those living nearby in the surrounding villages at the base of hill have resorted to using wooden tools and cutlery.   When the moon shines upon the temple, vague humanoid figures can be seen travelling up the hills, the mangled figures of once noble warriors. Shamefully reliving their defeat against the creature they were supposed to kill.

Old, marble-coloured and the bane of warriors that wish to prove themselves within Olohk. This monstrous being once made its residence within a shrine, feasting upon the weapons left as sacrifices for the deities of the resident Hobgoblins.   Alone and with no other creatures that competed for it's food sources, it quickly outgrew most of its kin. Strong and noble warriors were send up to the shrine, to deal with the creature. None returned, neither their weapons or bodies were found.

The Shrine where this creature lives rests on the island Kolvralolohk, near the South-West coast of Olohk.
