Actions

Poison Spray (Recharge 5-6). The firefern exhales gas in a 15-foot cone. The effect of this gas depends on enviroment, see regional effects. The gas lingers in its original shape harmlessly for 1d4 turns, and can be ignited to instantly do 1d8 of fire damage and ignite any object not being worn or carried, destroying the gas. Each creature in that area must make a DC 12 dexterity save to take half damage.   Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: reach 5 ft., one target. To-hit and damage depend on enviroment, see regional effects. If the firefern had advantage on the attack roll, it may steal any item not being worn or carried as a bonus action, and makes a Dexterity (Sleight of Hand) check for it.   Pilot Flame. The firefern exhales a small flame towards one entity within melee range as a bonus action. This flame is to small to do damage, but it ignites targeted object if flamable.


 

Regional Effects

Forest Breath Weapon: A white haze, not unlike fog, is exhaled by the firefern at human waist level. Each creature in that area must succeed on a DC 10 Constitution saving throw or be stunned for 1 minute. A creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success. Flight speed is boosted by 10. Bite: To-hit +4, damage 1d4+2 Jungle Breath Weapon: An opaque, purple, fruity-smelling gas is forcefully shot from the firefern at human eye level and down. Each creature in that area must succeed on a DC 10 Constitution saving throw or be blinded for 1 minute. A creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success. The firefern can move at base speed in difficult terrain. Bite: To hit +5, damage 1d6+3   Bog or Swamp: Thick, dark green, rot-smelling smoke pours out of the firefern's mouth, pooling around ankle height. Each creature in that area must succeed on a DC 10 Dexterity saving throw or have half movement speed and take 1d4-1 dmage per turn for 1 minute. A creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success. Swim Speed is Increased to 30. Bite: To-hit +6, damage 1d8+4 Burrow speed is increased to 10
