Kalanveitsi - Fred the Fish Knife

Kalanveitsi is, to an untrained eye, an ornamental dagger shaped like an ocean whitefish. To one trained in understanding magical artifacts however, it is much more. Once a person has attuned to the dagger, they learn its true name - Kalanveitsi. In battle, the user may call the blade's name and order it to take one of three forms:   Pallokala (Pufferfish): Deals 2 bonus piercing damage and forces the enemy to make a DC 10 Dexterity saving throw. If failed, the blade becomes lodged inside the enemy and deals 1d4 piercing damage per round. During this time, the enemy can attempt to make the saving throw once at the start of each turn as a full round action. Upon failing subsequent saves, the blade will deal 1d6 for the round instead. At any time, the user can withdraw the blade by calling this form's name again, as an item interaction, assuming they have a free hand.   Miekkakala (Swordfish): Deals 1d6+2 damage instead of the weapon's base damage. If an enemy is hit by this weapon, they must succeed a DC 10 Constitution saving throw or be afflicted with the bleeding status. While bleeding, the enemy takes 1d4 unblockable damage per round, and may re-make a DC 10 Constitution saving throw every round as a full round action to end the effect. The bleeding is intrinsically linked to this form, and if Kalanveitsi is shifted into any other form or is sheathed, the bleeding stops. Up to 3 targets can be afflicted at once.   Mutukala (Minnow): Kalanveitsi shifts into two smaller daggers which can be wielded together, even if the user is not proficient in dual-wielding. Each dagger deals 1d4+2 damage. These weapons retain their ability to be thrown, but will revert into Kalanveitsi's normal form upon landing, even if the second dagger is still in the hands of the user. They will however deal 2d4+4 damage if thrown in this way. Any humanoid which is on fire and is struck by one of these daggers will immediately be extinguised, but will still take full damage.   Kalanveitsi is an ornamental dagger which was created by a now extinct races of sea-dwelling elves known as the Alu'Tel'Quessir. Many of their weapons and tools bore similar depictions of the sea and marine life, but few exist in modern times.
