Fury of Wind

5-level Conjuration

Casting Time: 1 Action
Range/Area: 90 feet
Components: V, S, M
Materials: a feather from a bird of prey and a piece of parchment torn by the wind
Duration: Concentration, up to 1 minute
Attack/Save: STR Save
Damage/Effect: Bludgeoning
You summon a violent vortex of wind to envelop a creature you can see within range. The target must make a Strength saving throw. On a failed save, the creature is caught in the relentless grip of the wind, taking 2d8 bludgeoning damage initially, and is Grappled by the swirling vortex. At the start of each of its turns for the duration, the target takes an additional 1d8 bludgeoning damage.   While Grappled in this way, the creature's attacks are hindered by the buffeting winds, imposing disadvantage on all its attack rolls. The target can make a Strength saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effects on itself on a success.   If the creature's saving throw fails by 5 or more, it is also knocked Prone in addition to the other effects, struggling against the fury of the winds that buffet it from all directions.     At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 6th level or higher, the initial and ongoing bludgeoning damage increases by 1d8 for each slot level above 5th.
Spell Description. Fury of Wind draws upon the primal force of nature to create a concentrated vortex of air that relentlessly assaults a single target. The druid points to their foe, and with the incantation's completion, the air around the target explodes into chaos. Leaves, debris, and smaller objects are caught up in the sudden gale, circling the victim in a visual spectacle of nature's power. The spell's control over wind is so precise that it can constrict movement, sap strength, and make every action a battle against the howling tempest. This spell epitomizes the druid's ability to harness the elements, using them not just to damage, but to incapacitate and weaken their foes, embodying the strategic depth and versatility of nature's wrath.
