Fury of Ice

1-level Evocation

Casting Time: 1 Action
Range/Area: 120 feet
Components: V, S
Duration: Instantaneous
Attack/Save: Ranged
Damage/Effect: Cold
Summoning Vashteera's wrathful control over the cold, you launch a shard of ice at a creature within range. Make a ranged spell attack against the target. On a hit, the creature takes 2d8 cold damage, and its speed is reduced by 10 feet until the end of your next turn, as ice forms around its limbs and the ground beneath it becomes slick.   At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 2nd level or higher, the damage increases by 1d8 for each slot level above 1st.
Spell Description: Channeling the essence of the chilliest winter storms, Fury of Ice embodies Vashteera's command over the frost and sleet. With a swift motion and a whispered incantation, the caster conjures a piercing shard of ice, crystalline and sharp, that flies towards its target with unerring accuracy. Upon impact, the shard explodes into a burst of freezing energy, not only injuring the target with its biting cold but also enveloping them in a rime of frost that hampers their movements. Ground around the point of impact might briefly frost over, making it treacherous and contributing to the target's slowed pace. This spell mirrors Vashteera's strategic prowess, crippling an opponent's mobility and leaving them vulnerable to further assault.
