Enrage. When the Hoarfrost Serenas' HP drops below 79 (3/4) it immediately becomes enraged. When the hoarfrost Serenas' HP drops below 27 (1/4) its enrage ends, as it becomes too physically weak to maintain. While Enraged, its melee attacks deal an additional 2 (1d4) cold damage, and creatures that end their turns within 5 feet of the Hoarfrost Serenas take 2 (1d4) cold damage.

Flyby. The Hoarfrost Serenas does not provoke an opportunity attack when it flies out of an enemy's reach.

Actions

Multiattack. The Hoarfrost Serenas makes two attacks: one with its beak and one with its talons.

Beak. Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 10 (2d6 + 4) piercing damage.

Talons. Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 12 (2d8 + 4) slashing damage, and the target is grappled (escape DC 15). Until this grapple ends, the target is restrained, and the Hoarfrost Serenas can't use its talons on another target.

Bonus Actions

Hoarfrost Winds. While Enraged, the Hoarfrost Serenas may use this bonus action. The Hoarfrost Serenas furiously flaps its wings, causing biting frost to lash out at each target within 15 feet of it. Each target within range must make a DC 12 constitution saving throw. Targets take 8 (2d6 +2) Cold Damage on a failed save, and half as much on a successful one.

Usual Tactics

Serenas, and their stronger relatives, Hoarfrost Serenas tend to use their agility to quickly snatch prey. Once captured they will tear away at their prey and fly to a point suitable for dropping. Once high enough, the Serenas will simply allow gravity to do most of their work, reaping the rewards shortly after.

Faster, Stronger, and more agile than their less frosty cousins, Hoarfrost Serenas dominate the skies around windswept crags and mountains. Using their Accipitrid like talons, they either latch on to a larger opponent, using their hypertrophied talons to stab and slash at internal organs, or they grab firmly onto lighter and smaller prey, dragging them off cliffs to make for quick and easy meals. Though one characteristic diffrence between the hoarfrost varient of the Serenas is its command over ice, rather then the Serenas' adaptation to it. Hoarfrost Serenas secret some kind of solution that quickly freezes upon leaving the creatures body, causing the air around the creature to become increadably cold. Its thought that one of its hunting tactics while raising young is to grapple some medium or smaller prey, and slowly freeze and stab it to death while on its way back to its roost, allowing it to travel and have a meal ready for its young as soon as it arrives.

Suggested Environments

Arctic, Mountanas, and/or craggy environments are best suited to Hoarfrost Serenas as well as their weaker cousins, Serenas. This is due to their natural affinities for colder environments, and their general strategy for dealing with grounded prey, dropping them from up high to kill them with little effort.
