Psychic Telekinesis
Common among rust trolls are psionic abilities such as telekinesis. This takes the form of a non-magical ability with capabilities most easily expressed through spells.
- At 1st level you can cast the mage hand spell at will. When you do so the hand is invisible.
- Additionally, as a bonus action you may push or pull an object or creature within 30ft of you. The creature makes a strength saving throw against the mental ability score of your choice, wisdom, intelligence, or charisma. The DC equals 8 + your proficiency bonus, plus the modifier of the chosen ability score. On a failure, you may choose for the creature to be shunted 5 feet in a direction of your choice, or knocked prone. An object fails the saving throw automatically.
- When you reach 9th level you know the telekinesis spell which you may cast once without expending a spell slot. You regain this use when you finish a long rest. You may cast this spell additional times by expending a 5th level or higher spell slot as normal.
Corroded Communion
You have a strong connection to undead and the afterlife which allows you to speak with undead. Whenever you meet an undead creature you can communicate with them and understand their words directed at you even if you do not share a language.
Additionally, when you reach 5th level you gain the ability to cast the speak with dead spell without expending a spell slot. Once you use this ability you cannot do so again until you take a long rest. You may cast this spell additional times per day by expending 3rd level or higher spell slots as normal.
Rust trolls are a sect of more humanlike trolls who often possess great psychic abilities, while also having a strong connection to the dead due to generations of mass culling.
Rust trolls possess grey stone skin that comes in varying light and dark shades. They have yellow scelera and burgundy pupils similar to the colour of rust. this colour is a recurring theme as their blood and tears are this colour, and their black hair often fades into it at the tips. Rust trolls also have horns, typically curved or curled which start red before going orange and then yellow but can also be shades of rust like their blood.
