Physical Description

Liz'ae are a intelligent, human-like alien species from a artificial world called Alagua, which they built themselves. They're known for their scales that are scattered across their body, mainly on their face, shoulders and thighs. And their pointed almost elf-like ears and atennae. Their ears are very sensitive and are easily infected, while their antennae sense vibrations in the air and enhance their hearing. Liz'ae are less muscular than average compared to a human, making them look quite skinny. They also have a lizard tail, that often times than not looks like a salamanders.
 

Society

The Liz'ae live under a govermantal system, it is considered Republic, meaning that no one is above the law. Absolute power is not held by one person or group. Their federal goverment is quite small, for the most part they're mainly handling the national military and foreign affairs. In order for the president to make a law or policy that extends all sectors, the vast majority of the senators have to vote in favour of it. The Liz'ae are given great freedom to do whatever they want with their money inside the law and taxes are very low. This being said, welfare programs and free healthcare are either small or nonexistent in most sectors. So taking care of the poor is mostly funded by charities that the people put together instead of the goverment. It had proved highly effective, as the Liz'ae are fairly generous people.
  At the head of the federal goverment is the president. His powers are limited by the senate. Elections for that office is held once every five years. The Liz'ae are very prosperous and their world is generally regarded as a good place to invest. They import goods as fast as they export goods. Their goverment doesn't generally give loans to other worlds that are in trouble. Instead, they encourage citizens to donate to relief projects that they send. Federal money is rarely used unless it's urgent.
  The Liz'ae are typically calm and non-confrontational by nature, with a big cultural emphasis on family and community. Although there are always exceptions every rule, they are very accepting of new creatures and visitors.
  The Liz'ae were one of the first people to discover the portals that seemingly appeared after earthquakes, these portals would lead to other worlds and this is how Liz'ae move from world to world, plane to plane. Some would migrate to live on another world, while the others mostly trade or go to other worlds for research. This is how they discovered Jovalan, where they found the Kanpolos and all the other strange critters there. Which lead to them building a research centre, soon they started migrating there too as they learnt how to communicate with the Kanpolo.
