Each creature within 30 feet of the Surgebeast, itself included, must succeed on a DC 12 Wisdom saving throw or be affected by a random effect from the Wild Magic Surge table in the description.

The Grassland Surgebeast is a towering creature of the meadows, standing at around 15 feet tall. Its body is covered in a thick, shaggy fur that perfectly mimics the colors of the grasslands. Its eyes are a bright, glowing blue, a stark contrast to its earthy tones. The Surgebeast has a pair of large, curved horns that resemble twisted tree branches, adding to its natural camouflage. Despite its size, the creature is incredibly graceful and moves with a surprising quietness that allows it to blend seamlessly into its surroundings.   The Surgebeast is often accompanied by a variety of grassland creatures, from small rodents to larger beasts like antelopes and wolves. These creatures seem to recognize the Surgebeast as a protector, and they benefit from its presence by gaining a half-cover bonus due to the Surgebeast's size and the distracting magical energy it emits.   Despite its imposing appearance, the Surgebeast is not inherently aggressive. It is a creature of balance, embodying the wild and unpredictable nature of Magic itself. It only attacks when provoked or when defending its adopted family of grassland creatures. Its magical roar, a burst of wild magic energy, can cause a variety of surprising effects, from temporary growth or shrinkage to sudden bursts of speed or strength. This unpredictable nature makes the Surgebeast a formidable opponent and a fascinating creature to observe.
