Protection Interface Module (PIM) Adverse and Strange Effects Table

Roll the Dice
System Overload: The cybernetic experiences a surge in power, temporarily blinding the user for 1 round.
Misfiring Protocols: The PIM misidentifies a friend as a foe, giving you disadvantage on your next attack roll or ability check made against an ally within the next minute.
Resource Drain: The module drains additional resources to maintain the protective barrier. Any resource (spell slot, energy, etc.) used to activate the PIM is doubled.
Feedback Loop: The PIM experiences a feedback loop, dealing the user psychic damage equal to their level.
Glitching Reality Filter: The AR Lens glitches, causing the user to see enemies everywhere for 1 round. The user has disadvantage on attack rolls and ability checks as they struggle to differentiate reality from illusion.
Boosted Sensor Array: The module's sensors function optimally, enhancing your perception. You gain advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks for the duration of the PIM.
Enhanced Resonance Field: The dimensional resonance field generator boosts its output, increasing the protective field's radius to 10 feet and granting its benefits to one ally within range for the duration of the PIM.
Hallucinogenic Feedback: The AR Lens starts showing unsettling and distracting images to the user, giving them disadvantage on Wisdom saving throws for the next minute.
False Sense of Security: The PIM gives a false positive, making the user believe they are protected when they are not. The protective benefits of the PIM do not apply, but any creature attempting to affect the user with a harmful action believes the user is protected.
Harmonized System: The neural hub, AR lens, and dimensional resonance field generator synchronize perfectly, extending the duration of the PIM by 1 minute without requiring concentration.
