The body twitches, then pulses violently. The transformation has begun. They double over in pain, and vomit forth a black smog. The smog wraps around their torso, growing blackened spines and curly bone protrusions break through their skin at their shins and forearms. The black smog soon subsides, and as the mist parts you are greeted by white eyes crying pus.   The Cocalis are the unrecorded final stage of Devil's Blood usage, where the concentration of the shadowfell within the body of the victim reaches a critical mass, causing a snap transformation. These cases are uncommon because of the lack of time that Devil's Blood has been widely in circulation. Contrary to the belief of those who have witnessed these harrowing transformations, the victims of Cocalization can be transformed back into their original states with the casting a restorative magic from a cleric, or spells such as remove curse.   When a Cocalis dies, their body reverts to its natural state before it transformed.

Suggested Environments

Areas corrupted by the shadowfell. Urban environments or areas with thick or dense cover that can be quickly scaled. Tight spaces.
