Remnant

Remnants are beings made of tiny crystals, held together by intense focus. This focus allows them to shape their bodies to look humanoid, but must be maintained at all times. Some are so skilled at controlling the tiny crystals that form their bodies that their skin appears to be almost human-like. When a Remnant is stunned or unconscious, some fragments float away into orbit around them until they have the chance to regain control.
ability score increase: Your Intelligence Score increases by +2, and your Constitution Score increases by +1
age: No Remnant remembers how long ago The Fracturing was, but agree in general that it must have been several thousand years ago. A Remnant's body can be replenished with new crystals, and therefore does not age.
alignment: Most Remnants are Neutral, focusing on the experiences to be had in life rather than the moral consequences
Size: Medium
speed: 30 ft
Languages: Common, Arcanthic
race features:
Blindsense. You do not percieve through normal senses, remaining aware of your surroundings within 60 feet through pulses in the weave that your body reacts to. Crystaline Mind. You gain resistance against psychic damage.
Living Construct. You do not need to breathe, sleep, eat, or drink; though you can do so if you wish. You still require a short or long rest to gather arcane energy and reconfigure damaged crystals, as well as maintain your humanoid form for the next 24 hours. Instead of sleeping, you remain stationary and inactive, but aware of your surroundings. In this state you do not dream, remaining aware of any approaching enemies and unfolding events as you would outside of a long rest.
Telekinetic. You learn the mage hand cantrip. You can cast it without verbal or somatic components, and you can make the spectral hand invisible. As a bonus action, you can try to telekinetically shove one creature you can see within 30 feet of you. When you do so, the target must succeed on a Strength saving throw (DC 8 + your proficiency bonus + the ability modifier of the score increased by this feat) or be moved 5 feet toward or away from you. A creature can willingly fail this save.
Remnants exhibit a diverse range of physical appearances, each reflecting the unique collection of crystal shards that make up their being. Some might possess a humanoid silhouette with sharp, angular features, while others bear a more intricate, abstract form reminiscent of geometric patterns. Their bodies are composed of countless translucent and reflective crystal fragments that refract light, resulting in shimmering, prismatic hues. Remnants often adjust the arrangement of their shards to express their emotions, allowing their outer appearance to mirror their inner feelings.

Remnants share various tales of their own origin, but they all agree on one thing. They all came from one singular entity, an ancient construct of immense size and power that fell to shards and pieces in a catastrophe they dubbed The Fracturing. Some say they were once part of a great gate that was created to access unknown worlds, while others believe they were an entity created by the gods to deliver justice. There are even those who believe they were made by mortal hands as the singular construct they came from. Whatever they believe, they all know that each Remnant is a piece of the thought of the original construct., and they have a longing to be whole again. Remnants are psionic creatures, telepathic by nature. Each one has a different memory of being a part of the construct, though none can remember the original construct's purpose. Mere moments after activation, the immense amount of arcane energy became unstable and shattered, and an entire civilization of new minds were born, fractured away from the whole they all feel a pull to return to.

Remnants center their culture around the idea of experiencing life to the fullest extent possible. They view existence as an ongoing journey of self-discovery and connection, valuing experiences over rigid moral values. Their curiosity and hunger for knowledge drive them to explore the world around them, seeking to understand various cultures, perspectives, and ways of life. The concept of unity resonates deeply with them, as they strive to discover the secrets of their origins and the method by which they might return to the united whole they came from.

Arcanthic is the language native to the Remnants, similar to telepathy, it allows the conveyance of thoughts to one another. Arcanthic sounds like others to a harmonic humming among the various shards of crystal in the Remnant speaking it. It is able to be learned by other constructs, such as Warforged, but creatures with vocal cords and flesh can never hope to completely comprehend it.
