Shapechanging The puca are a shapeshifting race of people who can take a human form as well as being able to shapeshift into a horse, cat, rabbit, raven, fox, wolf, goat, goblin, or dog. The puca can take on all of these forms provided that they grew up in puca society where they could have been trained in shifting up until their age of maturity at fifteen. At first level a puca begins with 5 shifting points. Their first shift after a long rest does not take up any shifting points. Similarly, shapechanging into a creature of similar size does not take up any shifting points (ex. a rabbit into a raven). Changing into a shape that is of a different size takes up a shifting point (Ex. a rabbit into a wolf). Changing into a shape of a markedly smaller to a markedly larger, or vice versa, takes up two shifting points (Ex. A rabbit into a horse). Regardless of the form, returning to a human form only takes up one shifting point. However, turning from human form back into another form, the same shifting point rules listed above apply. When a puca has used up all their shifting points they cannot change form again until completing a long rest. If they attempt to shift again after using all shifting points they will have to make a Constitution saving throw and be rendered unconscious for the duration of a long rest if they fail. If they succeed the saving throw they will be able to transform but will be rendered exhausted until completing a long rest. When in this state a puca will move at half speed and roll with disadvantage on all Dexterity, Strength, and Intelligence rolls. At each new level gained a puca may gain one more shifting point with a max of 24 at level 20. At levels 4, 8, 12, 16, and 20 a puca may gain one new animal form to shift into provided they have put enough training into gaining an affinity with this animal. While in animal form a puca cannot utilize human speech unless that animal is already capable of speech or they have learned the proper magic to be able to speak in their animal forms. They are capable of communicating with other animals of their same type while transformed (Ex. Cats can communicate with cats, wolves can communicate with wolves, etc.) With the exception of a goblin form, which is not an animal, and already capable of speech.
Slight Builds As a smaller race in their humanoid forms, puca roll with advantage on dexterity and skills related to dexterity but roll disadvantage on strength and skills related to strength. The only exception to this rule is if a puca has focused on their strength. In which case these rules would be reversed with a puca rolling with disadvantage on dexterity and skills related to dexterity and advantage on strength and skills related to strength.
Animalistic Abilities Puca will sometimes have certain abilities granted to them in their human forms that are related to their animalistic qualities they are born with. For example, a puca might be born with claws.

Wild Nature The puca are often said to be quite mischievous, playful, and lively in nature. They are often regarded as quite volatile and dangerous. They can have very wild tempers and motivations. This can result in puca being innately rather impulsive in certain situations.

Supernatural Perception They seem to have a supernatural perception to perceive the true nature of others. Puca have an expertise in Insight.
