Ever-Burning Ebony Flames

3-level Necromancy

Range/Area: 150 ft
Components: Somatic
Duration: Until Dispelled
Attack/Save: Dexterity Save
Damage/Effect: Fire & Necrotic
A globule of dark fluid appears above your hand, hurling itself towards a target location combusting on contact. Each creature in a 20-foot-radius sphere centered on that point must make a Dexterity saving throw. A target takes 6d4 fire damage & 6d4 necrotic damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. The fire spreads around corners as it erupts, igniting flammable objects in the area.   After the initial eruption, a black flame continues to burn where the fluid landed. Creatures that come into contact with this flame take 1d6 fire damage and suffer a level of exhaustion as the ebony flames burn the vitality from its victims. The flame burns indefinitely even if smothered or drowned. To extinguish the flame, only a gallon of Holy Water or Dispel Magic will suffice.   Rubble or cobblestones with the burning liquid on them may be relocated so long as the creature is careful not to touch the flames.
At higher levels: When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 4th level or higher, the damage increases by 1d4 fire damage & 1d4 necrotic damage for each slot level above 3rd.   When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 7th level or higher, the spell is automatically twinned.
