Physical Description
Half Gnomes usually appear like taller more muscular gnomes or shorter, leaner humans. The blend of human and gnomish features can cause some odd proportions depending on one's height, such as longer hands, large ears or noses, or round heads.
History
Half Gnomes are extremely rare, and as such history's noteworthy Half Gnomes are typically remembered as humans or gnomes. Gnomish blood is so stubborn that even Illithids are unable to successfully corrupt it[1], so the creation of a Half Gnome may be the result of a mad mage's experiments, a transformation gone wrong, or the plea of a pious couple to a gnomish deity.
Society
Half gnomes blend the ambition and resilience of humans with the enthusiasm gnomes have for life. They are known to either dedicate their lives to achieving a singular goal, or let their interest flow unfocused across whatever crosses their path, rarely finding balance in this regard.
Half Gnomes find it easy to bled in with a cosmopolitan crowd, where folks are used to seeing people of all shapes and sizes. In the eyes of most casual observers, half gnomes can pass for humans, odd halflings, or even scrawny dwarves. However, full gnomes are often prone to staring at half gnomes, either out of disgust or curiosity for their uncanny features. Furthermore, isolated gnomish communities often look down on coupling with outsiders, and half gnomes by extension.
Half Gnome Names
The parents of a half gnome use either human or gnomish naming conventions. Among gnomes, a gnomish name might be chosen to help their child fit in with their peers, or a human name might be chosen to show their uniqueness. A half gnome baby is often named before it is even recognized as such, and given a name based on the race of it's mother.

Half Gnomes exhibit traits from their Gnomish and Human parentage and some that are unique to just Half Gnomes. Half Gnomes range depending on which parentage genes were more dominant. They can range from 3 to 5 feet tall. Your size is Medium.
Darkvision. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.
Gnome Cunning. You have advantage on all Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma saving throws against magic.
Skills. You gain proficiency in one skill or tool of your choice.
Half Gnome Versatility. You may choose one of the following traits to reflect your heritage. This trait replaces your Gnome Cunning trait.
- Natural Illusionist (Forest Gnome Heritage). You know the minor illusion cantrip. Intelligence is your spellcasting modifier for it
Speak with Small Beasts (Forest Gnome Heritage). Through sound and gestures, you may communicate simple ideas with Small or smaller beasts.
Artificer's Lore (Rock Gnome Heritage). Whenever you make an History check related to magical, alchemical, or technological items, you can add twice your proficiency bonus instead of any other proficiency bonus that may apply.
Superior Darkvision (Svirfneblin Heritage). Your Darkvision has a radius of 120 feet.
Stone Camouflage (Svirfneblin Heritage). You have advantage on Dexterity Stealth checks to hide in rocky terrain.
Feat (Human Heritage). Gain one feat of your choice.
