Mycelian Zombism

Bitten by a zombie, ingested mycelian spores or mushrooms

Congratulations! Congratulations! Congratulations. You were infected with a fungal zombistic infection and succamb to it after 3 days. Your character is dead, but if you want you can take this feat and keep playing the mushroom currently piloting your meat puppet!   You gain the following benefits and drawbacks:

  • Your Dexterity and Wisdom are reduced by 2, your Intelligence is reduced by 4, and your Strength and Constitution are both increased by 4.
  • You gain vulnerability to fire damage.
  • You gain resistance to poison damage and immunity to the poisoned condition.
  • You gain the feature "Fungal Fortitude." If damage reduces you to 0 hit points, you must make a Constitution saving throw with a DC of 5 + the damage taken, unless the damage is fire or from a critical hit. On a success, you drops to 1 hit point instead.
  • You gain proficiency in Constitution saving throws.
  • When you hit a creature with a critical hit, you bite the creature. That creature must then make a Constitution Throw with a DC of 8 + your Constitution Modifier + your proficiency bonus. If the creature fails it is infected with zombism and will undergoe a similar transformation to you over the course of the next 3 days. A creature who inhales spores from your body or ingests mushrooms from your body must make the same saving throw, falling to the same effects on a failure.
In most cases an individual infected by this mutated strain of fungal zombism becomes like a hungry animal, but in some cases they may retain their intelligence but have their consciousness supplanted with a new, mostly sapient life form in the form of this mycelium infection.
