race features:
Nimble Foragers
The Racosa are quite resourceful. They build their homes in the branches of strong trees, usually fruit-bearing ones with wide branches, and even have small towns or cities in the branches with structures made completely of wood. Their hands are so skilled at working the wood that they don't even need to cut into the trees to affix their structures.
Racosa names
The Racosa don't tend to name their offspring, so they don't always receive a name. They usually call their family by their relation to them (i.e. always calling their father "Father", their cousin "Cousin" etc.) Any non-related Racosa are often addressed as simply "Friend". Their town's leader is referred to as either Leader or Mayor. If one does have a name it may be one taken for themselves after hearing it spoken by some passing creature or other humanoids. It's not uncommon for them to have a name borrowed or overheard from the travelers passing through their forest, and it's also quite common for some to name themselves after objects. (Corner, Haystack, Barrel, and Glasses for examples.)
Racosan Religion
Racosan religion is not unlike many of the others. They have a central deity that they tend to worship beyond all others. She is the creator of the Racosan race. Her name is Ralia, but many simply refer to her as the Great Mother Ringtail. She is the goddess of luck, stealth, and trickery. There are actually numerous stories that say at one time, the racosa's tails were bare with no rings upon them. While none can agree which is correct, they do agree it came about from something befalling Ralia herself, she and all Racosa now have the rings raccoon tails are known for. The holy symbols Ralia is known for are a four-leaf clover as well, an image of a raccoon mask in a cloud with three stars, and a crescent moon shown behind it.
Dwelling amongst the trees of certain dense forests, the semi-reclusive Racosa are Raccoon-like humanoids focused on their own safety. Slow to trust those of other races if at all, they gather what information they may need by spying on wandering travelers through their territory. Some brave Racosa even daring to steal supplies from them should they think they can get away with it or are desperate enough to need them. Even then, they only take as much as they need, though some have a weakness for shiny objects. With the Racosa being mostly nocturnal (though it's not uncommon for some to be active during the day), it is best for one to keep an eye on their things at night in the forest territory of the Racosa.
