  • The Cait Sidhe’s innate spellcasting ability is Charisma (spell save DC 14). It can innately cast a number of spells, requiring no material components.
  • Cantrips (At Will): Minor Illusion, Vicious Mockery.
  • 1st Level (4 Slots): Disguise Self, Distort Value, & Silvery Barbs.

  • Evasion. If the Cait Sidhe is subjected to an effect that allows it to make a Dexterity saving throw to take only half the damage, the Caid Sidhe instead takes no damage if it succeeds on the saving throw, and only half damage if it fails.
  • Invisibility. The Cait Sidhe magically turns invisible until it attacks or casts a spell, or until its concentration ends (as if concentrating on a spell). Any equipment the Cait Sidhe wears or carries is invisible with it.
  • Keen Smell. The Cait Sidhe has advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on smell.
  • Magic Resistance. The Cait Sidhe has advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.

The Cait Sidhe is a type of Fey that resembles an oversized cat and is typically all black with the exception of a white spot on its chest; though there are variants that are white with orange spots, white with black spots, or entirely black without any other coloration. It is described as being as large as a dog and chooses to display itself with its back arched and bristles erect. They are generally considered untrustworthy even by other Fey. Some people believe that it could steal a person's soul, before it was claimed by the gods, by passing over a corpse before burial; therefore, watches were performed night and day to keep the Cait Sidhe away from a corpse before burial. Others believed it to appear and grant any wish to those who took part in a special summoning ceremony, one that required practitioners to burn the bodies of cats over the course of four days and nights. Still others believe it was believed that a Cait Sidhe would bless any house that left a saucer of milk out for it to drink, and that those houses that did not put out a saucer of milk would be cursed into having all of their cows' udders go dry. Finally, some people believe that the Cait Sidhe was a Hag that could transform voluntarily into its cat form and back nine times. If one of these Hags chose to go back into their cat form for the ninth time, they would remain a cat for the rest of their lives. It is believed by some that this is how the idea of a cat having nine lives originated. Regardless of which legend you believe, they are minor but chaotic Fey best left unoffended.
