race features:
Elvish Weapon Training.
You have proficiency with the longsword, shortsword, shortbow, and longbow.
Fey Ancestry.
You have advantage on saving throws against being charmed, and magic can't put you to sleep.
Keen Senses.
You have proficiency in the Perception skill.
Languages.
You can speak, read, and write Common and Elvish. Elvish is fluid, with subtle intonations and intricate grammar.
Elven literature is rich and varied, and their songs and poems are famous among other races.
Many bards learn their language so they can add Elvish ballads to their repertoires.
Shadow Magic.
You know the minor illusion cantrip. When you reach 3rd level, you can cast the pass without trace spell with this trait. When you reach 5th level, you can also cast the invisibility (self-only) spell with this trait. Once you cast pass without trace or invisibility with this trait, you can't cast that spell with it again until you finish a long rest. You can also cast either of those spells using any spell slots you have of the appropriate level.
Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma is your spellcasting ability for these spells when you cast them with this trait (choose when you learn this feat).
Shadow Stealth.
You are proficient in the Stealth skill. In addition, you can attempt to hide while you are only obscured by dim light.
Trance.
Elves don't need to sleep.
Instead, they meditate deeply, remaining semiconscious, for 4 hours a day. (The Common word for such meditation is "trance.")
While meditating, you can dream after a fashion; such dreams are actually mental exercises that have become reflexive through years of practice.
After resting in this way, you gain the same benefit that a human does from 8 hours of sleep.
If you meditate during a long rest, you finish the rest after only 4 hours. You otherwise obey all the rules for a long rest; only the duration is changed.
Dark elves are the ancestors of modern day
drow. These abilities are those that were naturally granted to their people before
Lolth's exile forced them into the
Underdark, the magical energies of which later twisted them into the
drow.
