Reflective Empathy. When the Empathator is dealt damage or suffers a mental effect(frightened, charmed, paralyzed, and stunned) that damage or effect is reflected to each creature within 20 ft. A creature may make a DC 13 Wis Save to not be affected by this ability until the beginning of the Empathator's next turn.

Actions

Multiattack. The Empathator makes 3 Claw attacks   Claws. Melee Weapon Attack, +4 to hit, reach 5 ft., one creature. Hit 7(2D4+2) Slashing Damage.

Empathators main ability is their violent empathy. An Empathator feels what those around it feels, and thus when people are happy an Empathator is happy and when people are sad an Empathator is sad. This will cause an Empathator to seek out humanoid settlements in order to simply feel the joy that those inside feel. The only problem with this is that Empathators themselves are horrifying to behold, as they are great slimy creatures with long claws and strange growths. Thus when an Empathator is inevitably seen, the wave of fear, disgust, and anger that washes over the discoverer can often drive the creature into a frenzy and drive the whole town mad.

Suggested Environments

Empathators are creatures of the great beyond and thus must be summoned or otherwise cross dimensions. An Empathator could arise from a dangerous leak between the worlds, or be summoned by a cult dedicated to the old ones. Some Empathators are even mistaken for true representatives of the great old ones, and are sometimes worshiped by the cult, although anyone with true knowledge of the outer plains can identify an Empathator as little more than a pest. However an Empathator arrives the creature will make its way to people, similar to a moth to a light. The Empathator will then carefully stalk the inhabitants, feeding on their emotions. It will be attracted to large groups and swells of emotion such as weddings, parades, and festivals. This is often when an Empathator grows boldest and thus when they are often discovered.
