Cunning Action. Dash, Disengage or Hide (as a Bonus Action)   Roguish Archetype. Assassin

  • Assassinate. You have advantage on attack rolls against any creature that hasn't taken a turn in combat yet.
Uncanny Dodge. When hit by an attacker you can see, you may use your reaction to halve the attack's damage against you.   Evasion. When subjected to a Dexterity saving throw for only half damage, you instead take no damage if you succeed on the save and only half damage if you fail.   Feat. Bloodletter (dagger strikes bleed the target of the attack for an additional 1d4 damage of the weapons type).

Actions

Nightcaller. Melee Weapon Attack. +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 1d4+1d4+3 piercing damage. Additionally, while wielding this weapon, the user can see in magical darkness as if it were dim light.   Lightrender. Melee Weapon Attack. +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 1d4+1d4+3 piercing damage. Additionally, while wielding this weapon, the user can snuff out any light creating spell of 5th level or lower 1/day as a bonus action.   Event Horizon. Shormin selects one Shadowsphere. All targets within 15 feet of the sphere must make a successful DC 16 Constitution saving throw or suffer 6d6 force damage as it implodes. The sphere then vanishes.

Legendary Actions

Shormin can take 3 legendary actions, using the options listed below. He can only take one legendary action at a time and only at the end of another creature's turn. Shormin regains spent legendary actions at the start of his turn.   Shadowstep. Shormin melds with the darkness and reappears in another location bearing a shadow, or within a Shadowsphere. Shormin may then use the hide action.   Shadowshard (2 actions). Shormin launches two shards of ruinous darkness at targets within 60 feet at +7 to hit, dealing 2d4 necrotic damage and 2d4 psychic damage each. These shards of ruinous energy remain embedded into objects and targets after they are thrown and can be detonated using Shadowstorm.   Shadowstorm (3 actions). Shormin detonates all Shadowshards on the field. Each shard detonates, dealing 3d6 force damage per shard and leaves behind a 5-foot Shadowsphere of absolute darkness, enveloping all within. Any targets caught within are completely blind. These Shadowspheres remain until dispelled, Shormin dismisses them or uses Event Horizon on them.

Lair Actions

When fighting inside its lair, Shormin can invoke additional effects to take lair actions. On initiative count 20 (losing ties), Shormin can take one lair action to cause one of the following effects:

  • Shadowblade. Shormin attempts to rip a shadow from a target, spawning a new shadow ally to aid him. The target must make a successful DC 16 Constitution saving throw or have their shadow ripped from them, suffering 6d6 psychic damage, and spawning a new shadow which gains an initiative count immediately. If its turn has not passed it may act as normal.
  • Ricochet. Shormin throws a blade of pure shadow at a target within 60 feet, dealing 6d6 necrotic damage. If another target is within 30 feet, this blade ricochets, dealing 4d6 necrotic damage. If another target is within 15 feet, this blade ricochets, dealing 2d6 necrotic damage. If another target is within 7.5 feet, the blade ricochets, dealing 1d6 necrotic damage. Only one attack roll is made for the first hit and if it strikes, all subsequent targets are struck. If this attack misses or is blocked, the ricochet effect stops.
  • Shadow Dance. Shormin bends three shadows by hijacking them to make attacks on nearby targets. This attack is calculated as a normal attack using Shormin's to hit bonus and copies the weapon type of the hero being attacked. The damage type dealt by this attack is necrotic.

This dimly lit room is perfectly circular and features a small eerily lit brazier.

This cloaked and hooded figure wields two daggers that seem to pull in the very light around them.
