Circle of the Fae

Druids associated with this Circle believe that the nature of the Unseen World is as important to protect as that of the Seen World (i.e., the Material Plane). They typically have a direct and close relationship with a particular Court of Faerie. Though they are deadly serious about protecting flora, fauna, fae, and the ecologies that support them, they are fairly irreverent about everything else. This includes, for instance, the pride of Dwarves, the ego of High Elves, the self-centeredness of Humans, and most aspects of “civilized” society. They tend to get along best with Wood elves, Halflings, Gnomes, and other races with close ties to the animal/natural world.

Faerie Ring

Starting at 2nd level, you can summon a ring of mushrooms on any earthen, stone, or wooden surface. Sitting within this ring allows you to connect with the Unseen World and regain magical energy. During a short rest, you choose expended spell slots to recover. The spell slots can have a combined level that is equal to or less than half your druid level (rounded up), and none of the slots can be 6th level or higher. You can’t use this feature again until you finish a long rest.

Circle Spells

Your connection with the circle grants you the power to cast certain spells. At 3rd, 5th, 7th and 9th level you gain access to circle spells connected to natural flame. Once you gain access to a circle spell, you always have it prepared, and it doesn't count against the number of spells you can prepare each day. If you gain access to a spell that doesn't appear on the druid spell list, the spell is nonetheless a druid spell for you.
Level Spell
3rd Friends, Sleep
5th Alter Self, Misty Step
7th Fear, Summon Fey
9th Confusion, Greater Invisibility

Pixie Familiar

Starting at 6th level, a particular Pixie attaches itself to you as your familiar. It will accompany you, converse with you, and scout for you (as long as it doesn't have to go too far). It does not engage in combat and will remove itself to safety whenever possible and necessary, but on your turn, you can take an action to instruct the Pixie to cast one of its spells (on itself or any other nearby creature, including you). The Pixie is invulnerable to damage while it's in your presence, but if sent far enough to be out of eye- and earshot, it becomes vulnerable to damage. If your hit points are reduced to 0 or fewer and the Pixie is with you, it will sacrifice its material form to heal you up to a number of hit points equal to your druid level and vanish to the Feywild. It will also vanish to the Feywild if it is reduced to 0 hit points while out of your presence. If the Pixie vanishes to the Feywild, it can be resummoned as a 10-minute ritual during spell preparation after a long rest.

Faery Wings

Starting at 10th level, you can sprout faery wings and fly, 3 times per short rest. This works exactly like the Fly spell, with the following exceptions:
  • Only the druid can fly (the wings cannot be cast on anyone else)
  • Concentration is unnecessary.
  • The druid can cast spells and engage in ranged combat, but the flight does not allow for melee combat.
  • After 10 minutes, the druid can continue to fly long enough to land safely rather than simply falling. Alternatively, the druid can continue to fly for up to 30 minutes but will suffer from exhaustion and be unable to fly again until the end of the next long rest.
  •

    Nature’s Sanctuary

When you reach 14th level, creatures of the natural world sense your connection to nature and become hesitant to attack you. When a beast or plant creature attacks you, that creature must make a Wisdom saving throw against your druid spell save DC. On a failed save, the creature must choose a different target, or the attack automatically misses. On a successful save, the creature is immune to this effect for 24 hours. The creature is aware of this effect before it makes its attack against you.
