False Dragonborn

False dragonborn have filled the void of true dragonborn as the environment changes and adventures desolate the dragon population. They are dragon-like mammals modeled after the pangolins. Often they are mistaken for dragonborn as their carnitine scales cover the majority of their body and come in similar colors to dragonborn. The primary physical difference is they have fur on their midsection and oftentimes in more places. They also lack a breath weapon however as dragonborn become less common this difference is less notable. False dragonborn tend to fill roles that require great amounts of physical strength for example blacksmiths or farmers. Some elect to pursue magic but few are naturally gifted. False dragonborn have assimilated into mainstream culture fairly well however, there exist some extremist groups on both sides of the morality spectrum. The most prevalent of these groups believe they are true dragonborn and deserve to own the former lands of the once rich and diverse dragon population.
