Slayer of Gods

While some see the rule of the Gods over the vast cosmos as the natural order, others deny their power and seek to end their reign. Referred to as the Slayers of Gods, these warriors seek to destroy all Gods and bring about an Age of Mortals. These Slayers have honed their bodies, minds, and weapons to deadly precision and power, capable of slaying even the Primordial Beings.

You start with the following equipment, in addition to the equipment granted by your background:

  • (a) a martial weapon with a dagger or (b) two martial weapons

  • (a) a light crossbow with 10 darts or (b) a shield

  • (a) a navigator's tools or (b) an explorer pack

  • (a) chain mail or (b) leather armor


spellcasting:
The Slayers utilize a distinct form of magic referred to solely as the "Mark of Death." This black flame-based magic is capable of killing Gods and was said to be sealed deep inside of the Flame, but its users have found ways of maintaining it.  

Cantrips

At 1st level, you know four cantrips of your choice from the Slayer of Gods spell list. You learn additional cantrips of your choice at higher levels, as shown in the Cantrips Known column of the Slayer of Gods table.  

Spell Slots

The Slayer of Gods table shows how many spell slots you have to cast your Slayer of Gods spells of 1st level and higher. To cast one of these spells, you must expend a slot of the spell's level or higher. You regain all expended spell slots when you finish a long rest.   For example, if you know the 1st-level spell Burning Hands and have a 1st-level and a 2nd-level spell slot available, you can cast Burning Hands using either slot.  

Spells Known of 1st Level and Higher

You know two 1st-level spells of your choice from the Slayer of Gods spell list.   The Spells Known column of the Slayer of Gods table shows when you learn more Slayer of Gods spells of your choice. Each of these spells must be of a level for which you have spell slots. For instance, when you reach 3rd level in this class, you can learn one new spell of 1st or 2nd level.   Additionally, when you gain a level in this class, you can choose one of the Slayer of Gods spells you know and replace it with another spell from the Slayer of Gods spell list, which also must be of a level for which you have spell slots.  

Spellcasting Ability

Wisdom is your spellcasting ability for your Slayer of Gods spells, since the power of your magic relies on your fortitude and strength. You use your Wisdom whenever a spell refers to your spellcasting ability. In addition, you use your Wisdom modifier when setting the saving throw DC for a Slayer of Gods spell you cast and when making an attack roll with one.   Spell save DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Wisdom modifier   Spell attack modifier = your proficiency bonus + your Wisdom modifier

Divine Presence

  As a dedicated hunter of the Gods, you have experience with the signs of their presence. Beginning at 1st level, when performing Arcane and Religion checks, you gain Advantage on these checks.  

Honed Reflexes

  Starting at 2nd level, your reflexes and thinking allow you to move and act quickly. You can take a bonus action on each of your turns in combat. This action can be used only to take the Dash, Disengage, or Hide action.  

Empyrean's Strike

  At 4th level, as a bonus action, you give yourself advantage on your next attack roll on the current turn. You can use this bonus action only if you haven't moved during this turn, and after you use the bonus action, your speed is 0 until the end of the current turn.  

Ability Score Improvement

  When you reach 4th level, and again at 8th, 10th, 12th, 16th, and 19th level, you can increase one ability score of your choice by 2, or you can increase two ability scores of your choice by 1. As normal, you can't increase an ability score above 20 using this feature.  

Slayer's Wit

  Starting at 5th level, when an attacker that you can see hits you with an attack, you can use your reaction to halve the attack's damage against you.  

God's Evasion

  Beginning at 7th level, you can nimbly dodge out of the way of certain area effects, such as a red dragon's fiery breath or an Ice Storm spell. When you are subjected to an effect that allows you to make a Dexterity saving throw to take only half damage, you instead take no damage if you succeed on the saving throw, and only half damage if you fail.  

Heavenly Sight

  Starting at 14th level, if you are able to hear, you are aware of the location of any hidden or invisible creature within 10 feet of you.  

Slayer's Elusivity

  Beginning at 16th level, you are so evasive that attackers rarely gain the upper hand against you. No attack roll has advantage against you while you aren't incapacitated.  

Veil of the Slayer

  Starting at 18th level, you can use your action to magically assume the shape of a veil of black fog and flame. You can use this feature twice. You regain expended uses when you finish a short or long rest.

There are no subclass options for the Slayer of Gods. They have no other divisions.
