Giant-kin

Giants come in many forms, but can all trace their lineage back to the All-Father or Matron Mountain. There are the titans (Vonin) born of Annam and his first wife, the true giants (or Jotunbrud) born of Annam and Othea, and finally the giant-kin (Jotunkyn) born of adulterous affairs that corrupted and ultimately ended the divine union of these two prime gods. The creation of the Jotunkyn is viewed in retrospect as the beginning of the end of the golden age of giants, and they are forever marked as maug as a result. Persecuted, exploited, or ignored, the giant-kin were scattered across Ostoria and in a twist of fate were saved from the worst of the Cataclysm.
Now, the prospect of restoring the kingdom that once spurned them has prompted Jotunkyn of a heroic disposition from across the realms to journey to their ancestral home, climb the slopes of Othea-Tor, and prove everyone wrong.

Voadkyn

There was some dispute as to whether the voadkyn race was created when Othea, wife of the giant deity Annam All-Father, had an affair with Ulutiu, or whether the race was the product of Annam. A giant stormazîn apparently once proved that Dunmore was Ulutiu's child and that Othea tricked Annam into believing that he was his own so that Dunmore could spy on Annam and his children, meaning that the voadkyn were giant-kin and not "true giants", but the voadkyn preferred to believe the opposite.
Like all the giant-kin races, they were never granted a portion land by Annam from which to found their own "dynasty" inside the kingdom of Ostoria. They were initially welcomed by their fellow giants and learned their ways, but once their true parentage had been discovered by Annam he cast them out. They became excluded from the societies of true giants, despite Othea's best efforts to protect them. They then decided that since Annam had not given the forests of Ostoria to any of his sons, they would take them as their own domain, after which they cut off most relations with both giants and giant-kin.
Voadkyn were known to be highly susceptible to all forms of lycanthropy and were one of only two giant races in which "true" lycanthropes were known to exist. These true lycanthopes were a form of werebat that the voadkyn referred to as shadkyn and a great enmity existed between them and their non-afflicted brethren.

Ogre

Famously strong, infamously dim-witted, ogres are the most numerous and well-known of the jotunkynn. Born of an affair between Othea and the devourer Vaprak. Even among the Jotunkynn their existence is loathed, as it came to light that Vaprak was in fact Annam's son by an earlier relationship. This terrible discovery led to a blood curse put upon the entire race by a wrathful Annam.
Ogres are known to typically associate with goblinoids, orcs, and their fellow giant-kin trolls. In the social structure of the giants, the Ordning, ogres are considered the lowest-ranked of all giant-kin. Because of this, they are typically found to be willing servants of giants. The giant races they are most often seen working alongside are hill giants and verbeeg, the former of which they often trade with for trinkets or food.
Many ogres work as mercenaries, hoping for easy plunder, and in that line of work they are often seen alongside verbeeg. Lone hags, as well as covens, are known to employ ogres as guards, while others polymorph ogres and send them out to work as spies
