Abyssal One

You're underwater. Why are you underwater? When did you get here? Oh, wait, that's right. You died here. You remember what happened. You were on a boat with your party, adventuring. A water genasi, a gnome, an aasimar, and then you. The normal human. You didn't know you'd die on that boat. Everything was so peaceful, until they suddenly pushed you overboard. You fell into the water with a splash, sinking quickly. You tried to swim back to the surface, but something bit onto your leg, dragging you deeper until you were barely conscious. It let go, finally, moving to look you in the eyes. It was a great white shark, but it's eyes and mouth leaked bits of a glowing light-blue substance into the now extremely dark water, the blobs of the substance floating around it in the water. It didn't look normal at all. Not only that, but it's body was twisted and mutilated in horrible ways. It killed you. Brutally. It hurt a lot. However, you found yourself waking up at the ocean floor not long after.   Why did they do that?   You will never be the same.

(See Lost Ones)   Abyssal Dive   You spent hours swimming out of your watery grave and back to land. You were so terrified of dying to the water's monsters again, that you spent hours and hours practicing swimming after that. The water almost doesn't trigger your PTSD anymore... Well, maybe almost is a stretch. You get a +1 stat increase in every stat when underwater, other than charisma, which you receive a -3 in when underwater.
(See Lost One description)   Abyssal Ones have a distinct look to them. They seem to never be able to fully dry off, and seem to have some fishlike features. This varies from Abyssal One-to-Abyssal One, some looking quite a lot more human than others. Their eyes are always empty looking, black abysses of nothing. A few Abyssal Ones, however, have a sort of oil dripping out of their black abyss eyes.
