Troglodyte

Troglodytes are notorious for being simple minded folk, but on occasion there rises an individual who's intellect is either comparable, or in extreme cases, superior, to that of other races. These creatures usually are a benefit for the tribe, often making their way to the top through their cunning as opposed to their strength. Some, however, flee to civilization to escape the brutality of the tribe, believing they can find acceptance, but find the civilized world just as hostile to their presence. Other, simpler Troglodytes can simply be more adventurous, or be cast away from the tribe. These individuals usually find themselves in some fold of civilization, considered thugs or brutes, and often hired as such.
ability score increase: Your Constitution score increases by 2, and your Strength score increases by 1.
age: Troglodytes, due to their tribal lifestyle, have a short life span. They are considered adults at the age of 15, and usually, live to a maximum of 50 years.
alignment: Troglodytes are naturally chaotic evil, making lawful or good troglodytes particularly rare.

Languages: You speak Pure Common and Troglodyte.

Chameleon Skin: You are proficient in the Stealth skill, and you have advantage on Dexterity (Stealth) checks made to hide in underground terrain.   Darkvision: You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of grey.   Sharp Claws: You are considered proficient with your unarmed strike. You deal 1d6 slashing damage with your claws. Use your Strength modifier for both your attack and damage rolls.   Stench: Any creature that starts its turn within 5ft of you must succeed in a DC 12 Constitution save or be poisoned until the start of their next turn. A creature that succeeds is immune to the odor of all troglodytes for 1 hour.   Sunlight Sensitivity: You have disadvantage on all attack rolls and Wisdom checks that rely on sight if either you, or the target, is in direct sunlight.   Tough Hide: When you aren't wearing armour, your AC is 13 + your Constitution modifier. You can use your natural armour to determine your AC if the armour you wear would leave you with a lower AC. A shield's benefits apply as normal while you use your natural armour.

Racial Description

Chameleon: Troglodytes resemble salamander like creatures with tough, leathery scales. Their skin varies from a light purplish-grey to a fair white-pink, with variations on the blue or red tone in their skin. Their face and neck are framed by soft frills of crimson or pink and they have a frill of similar color starting at their forehead and traveling down their neck. They stand roughly the height of human beings, despite reports of Troglodytes being towering behemoths. Their imposing nature is best associated with their menacing appearance, which makes them ideal thugs and bruisers. Though Troglodytes are best known for their rancid stench, those intelligent enough to understand the concept of 'decency' will often bathe regularly to separate themselves from their more tribal relatives. This doesn't stop anyone from making a face in anticipation of the potential stench (and often one still lingers).   Blood and War: Little is understood about the history of Troglodyte society. This is imparted by their lack of even oral records, as Troglodytes are often too busy fighting each other or hunting to remember most anything. That and their short life span, and life expectancy, means that they often don't have utility for any kind of historical record, as to keep such would be viewed as a waste of time.   Clan and Kin: Troglodyte society is anarchic in nature, their individual tribes, and clans not only continually at war with each other but also in a state of constant tension between those who are competing as leaders of the hunt. Those who are too weak are either outcast or killed, with little tolerance for intelligence or talent (things that Troglodytes lack the capacity to appreciate in the first place). Troglodytes lack the capacity to plan ahead more than a few days, which means they will go on multiple raids or hunts in a single week, terrorizing all nearby settlements or towns. Especially fond of shiny objects, troglodytes understand the value of metal items, and will fight each other relentlessly for their ownership. Non-enlightened troglodytes know and worship only one deity, Laogzed. A god of gluttony and sloth, his visage is that of a massive, fat toad. He offers his worshipers nothing but desire and aspiration as they desire only to be as fat and content as he seems to be.   Troglodyte Names: Troglodytes don't have the imagination for arbitrary names, so they often simply give their children descriptive names, such as 'One-Who-Stalks' or 'One-With-Pale-Frills'. Such names are of a utilitarian nature and rarely have any bearing on the individual gender. Troglodytes from different clans will often combine their individual name with their clan's name, such as 'One-Who-Stalks of Those-Of-The-Stony-Bluffs'. Most other races will simply shorten these names to 'Who-Stalks' and 'Stony-Bluffs'
