Sea Elf

The sea elves of Exellendra are a subrace of wood elves who fell in love with the ocean early after their arrival on the planet. Sea elves are typically blue in color, with light green hair and deep, silver eyes. Sea elves are isolationist both in their nature and in the physical location of their settlements, the largest of which on Exellendra is Wavepool, located in the Seamoor Isles. Their trust doesn't usually extend far beyond their clan and others of their kind, and their communities are very tightly knit, to the point that sea elves who live in cities housing upwards of 50,000 of their kin can claim to know every member at least by name. They struggle to understand why surface elves don't realize that community and alliances mean survival, whereas rivalry, individualism, and factionalism mean death, an idea that was later proven when they managed to near entirely avoid the War of Five Branches, not including a few skirmishes meant to defend their own territory.   Despite being extremely cautious, however, sea elves also extremely curious, and sea elves who come into contact with other races often spend a significant amount observing or learning about land-bound races. Such curiosity can sometimes lead to strong connections with individuals of other races, whom the sea elf will then come to include in their personal "community." If such a connection is strong enough, this action can end up extending beyond the individual an into sea elf communities as a whole, leading to persons or peoples being recognized as allied and trustworthy by tribes, cities, or even entire kingdoms.
