T'diktii

Mind-controlling dictators from beyond the crystal sphere.

Since the end of the War Against the Far Realm, there have been few threats from beyond our Crystal Sphere. We have had the luxury of focusing on just the Kirinal Pit and building our Concordant civilization. Recently, however, a new threat from beyond the stars attacked Lola's Comfy Kitchen right here in Gold Arrow Station! The so-called "t'diktii" took over the staff, body and mind, and almost turned Kuya Buwaya into their home base! Luckily, a team of heroes saved Kuya and the Kitchen Staff. We owe them a debt of gratitude.

Instructor of Recruits

They snuck out of the sky a few years ago in their living ship. They're nasty, like a mix of fungi and mosquitoes, but with none of the charm. Those parasites infect their host, hollow them out, and walk around in their skins. It's the worst kinda non-consensual body copying and it's definitely against the Concordant Mandates! Make sure you keep your eyes open for mind-control slime on your friends' necks!

Sgt. Kill Flayer

The t'diktii (singular t'dikt) are a sentient space-faring species of parasites that look similar to fungal insectoids. They literally live in the skins of other mortals, attaching themselves at the top of the spine of their host and slowly working their way into the body of their host. After a few days, the process becomes irreversible as they devour their host's thoughts and body from the inside out.

Once the process is complete, in some ways, they become their host and live their life. Eventually, after a few years, the host body begins to wear out and the t'dikt must seek another host.

In its true form, a t'dikt most resembles a fungus-infested mosquito. They have a type of hive mind that allows them to share experiences and speak to each other telepathically over a distance of roughly a mile.

Life Stages

Their life stages include a non-sentient larval/spore stage where the adult t'diktii treat their offspring as a bio-weapon to infect possible hosts.

The larva spores take on the intelligence of their first host, using it as a template to form their adult mind. The adult t'dikt seeks out more hosts to add more experiences and powers to their repertoire.

In their final form, as an old king, the t'dikt becomes fertile and sprouts wriggling larva spores. The adult t'dikt deliver these offspring over as wide an area as possible. Eventually, they will remake the entire universe in their image.

This reminds me of reading the Animorphs books. I'm glad Lola's comfy kitchen was saved!

They're pretty bad. They definitely have that "bad mushroom" energy.
